- This site (pdfeditors.live) offers quick online tools in your browser. The Android app on Google Play adds a camera scanner with edge detection, offline Scan/Image→PDF, and the same cloud My Files after you sign in.
- Can I edit scanned PDFs?
- Yes. Use OCR to extract text from scanned pages, then edit with our font-preserving editor. For best results on mobile, use the built-in document scanner in our Android app.
- How do I merge multiple PDFs?

- Can I convert PDF to Word for free?
- Yes — use PDF to Word conversion. Tables and headings usually export cleanly to editable DOCX format.
- Is my data safe?

What converts well
Single-table pages, bank-style statements and price lists with aligned columns usually land in usable sheets. Multi-table pages or tables wrapped around graphics may need column cleanup after download.
Scans and image PDFs
If you cannot select text in a viewer, run OCR first (account required when you run the job). Choose the languages on the page from English, Hindi, Arabic, French and Spanish, then convert.
Word vs Excel
Choose Excel when you need formulas, sorting or charts. Choose PDF to Word for narrative letters and policies. For a one-line typo in a PDF table cell, Edit PDF may be enough.
Limitations to expect
Merged headers, footnotes under tables and rotated pages can confuse structure. Always validate totals after import. Compress huge source PDFs only after you no longer need full scan resolution for OCR.

How AI credits are calculated
LocalMind AI and paid cloud models use the same credit pool. OCR and Scan are separate page quotas. Unused credits do not carry forward to the next period.
- What is an AI credit?
- A credit is a unit of AI usage for the current billing period. Each plan grants a monthly pool (Free 10 · Premium 400 · Pro 1,000 · Business 1,500 · Enterprise 5,000). Paid plans reset with your Razorpay/Stripe subscription period (monthly or yearly — yearly bills 11 months for 12). Free resets each calendar month (UTC).
- How much does each AI tool cost?
- Chat PDF: 1 credit per message · Talk to Excel: 15 · Summary: 5 · Resume / Translate: 10 · Contract, Invoice Extract, Document Extractor: 20 · AI Podcast: 25 / 50 / 100 / 150 for 5 / 10 / 20 / 30 minutes (premium voice +15) · Vision helpers: 10 (per call). Costs apply whether the answer comes from LocalMind AI (local) or a paid cloud model.
- How is utilization % calculated?
- Utilization % = (credits used ÷ credits granted) × 100 for the current period. Example: Business plan with 1,500 credits and 60 used → 4% utilized, 1,440 remaining. Your Plans page and Dashboard show used / granted, remaining, and a progress bar.
- Are OCR and Scan taken from AI credits?
- No. OCR pages and Scan pages are separate monthly (or daily for Free Scan) quotas on your plan. Document Extractor uses AI credits for the extract job and OCR pages for the pages it reads. Standalone OCR uses the OCR page quota.
- Do unused credits carry forward to the next month?
- No. Unused AI credits do not roll over. When a new billing period starts, your balance resets to that plan’s full monthly grant. Leftover credits from the previous period expire. OCR and Scan page quotas also reset each period and do not carry forward.
- Do local and paid AI both count?
- Yes. Running AI via LocalMind AI (local) or escalating to a paid provider both debit the same credit ledger, so your utilization always reflects real usage.
- Can I buy more AI credits without changing my plan?
- Yes. On the Plans page, open Buy AI credits and choose a pack (100 / 500 / 2,000 credits). Payment is a one-time Razorpay checkout. Top-ups are added to your current billing period only — they do not roll over when the period resets.
- What happens when credits run out?
- AI tools that need credits are blocked until you buy a credit pack, upgrade your plan, or wait for the next billing period. Core PDF tools (merge, edit, convert, and other non-AI tools) stay available on Free.
